Find the formula

Search by name or symbol (force, ohm, pv = nrt), or pick a subject and chapter. Star the ones you use often to keep them under Favourites.

Choose what to find

Every formula can be solved for any of its quantities. Tap the one you need, type the others, and choose the units in the boxes. The answer updates as you type.

Check the working

Open Show the working to see the formula, the unit conversions, your numbers put in, and the answer. Use Save to My Notes to keep a formula for revision.

About these calculators

  • Checked data: each formula is stored with its units and a worked example, and every rearrangement is tested by computer against the original equation.
  • No guessing: the answers are plain calculations, so the same numbers always give the same result.
  • Units handled for you: choose km/h, g, mL, atm, °C, degrees and more. Values are converted to SI units before calculating, and you can show the answer in any unit.
  • Constants: values such as g, G, c, h and R are filled in for you and can be changed. Some courses use g = 9.8 m/s² and some use 10; set your choice under Constants.

Works offline: after your first visit the formula library is saved in your browser. Formulas follow the usual SSC and HSSC school courses; where a textbook uses a different sign convention or a different value for a constant, follow your textbook.
